Real Estate with Confidence. Hosted by Carl Goldberg and Nicole Brown, is the first real
estate show on Cox Cable Channel 10. |

Beginning in March, Northern Virginia will be treated to a local television show - “Real Estate with Confidence” - solely dedicated to the area’s real estate market. The show will offer tips and information on all aspects of real estate, including a history of the market. The 30 minute segment will start airing in March on Cox Cable Channel 10, Comcast Cable in Reston Channel 10 and soon to be Verizon FiOS TV in Northern Virginia, with a permanent time slot to be assigned in April.
Carl Goldberg, a realtor with the Kingstowne Century 21 New Millennium office and Nicole Brown, a mortgage specialist from First County Mortgage based in Kingstowne, will co-host the show. It will feature anything a person will need to know before buying or selling their home. Some of the topics will include appraisals, inspections and financing.
“We won’t bore anyone with the facts. Our goal is to provide a light-hearted show that’s interesting and fun,” said Goldberg. “We speak in a language that makes sense.”
Brown agreed, “I have a lot of fun with Carl. We both have a similar sense of humor, but we take our jobs very seriously and are able to answer our viewer’s questions.” She noted that the show is perfect for new home buyers or people who haven’t bought or sold a house in a long time. When asked how the concept originated, Goldberg answered, “I came up with the idea and proposed it to Nicole. With her financial knowledge, I knew we’d make a great team.”
Filling a void Both of the hosts, who took their real estate classes together, believe that the show will fill a current void in the area’s market. “The show is designed as a one-stop shop which is ideal for clients looking to get all their questions answered in one go. This is where the current real estate trend is going,” said Goldberg. “Real estate offices across the country are making it easier for clients by having various resources available to them in one place.”
In Alexandria City and Fairfax County, the show will air on Channel 10. Goldberg also expects to be picked up by the cable access channel in Loudoun County.
Viewers who have a topic or question can send an email directly to Goldberg by visiting the show’s website, www.realestatewithconfidence.com.
The website also features a blog where Goldberg posts his comments about the topics for the show, the guests and the overall production of the show. Viewers are encouraged to post comments and questions.
Currently, the hosts have taped six shows and will continue to produce three shows per month. “We recently interviewed Peg from Mount Vernon, who taught us about the history of real estate in Northern Virginia. We spoke about George Washington and his estate, and how he became the owner of up to 8,000 acres. It was a fascinating interview,” Goldberg said. “We also talked about agencies and who represents who in the transaction. Chuck Bryant elaborated on the subject and gave his market outlook. This was followed by Amanda Gotta, who spoke about a career in real estate and what it takes to get your real estate license.”
On the air According to Rachel Kennedy with Fairfax Public Access, “Real Estate with Confidence” will air in Fairfax County beginning the second week of March. Initial airdates will be on Sundays at 10pm, Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. The show can be seen in over 258,000 Fairfax County households.
Goldberg, who specializes as a resident agent for the 1,100-unit Montebello Condominium property in the Huntington area of the county, is currently looking for underwriters for the show. Century 21 New Millennium will be the first.
“To my knowledge, I’m the only realtor in this area with a television show. I’m really excited about this opportunity to educate viewers on the various aspects of real estate and to offer visibility for those in the profession,” said Goldberg. “Renters will also get a lot of good information from our show. It’s our goal to meet all real estate needs”
